Compressed Natural Gas Buses For
Peru
Tuesday, 31 July 2007
Peru, Lima
Lima’s natural gas bus fleet
will increase tenfold with the
arrival of 10 Chinese built
units this September. Press
reports Peru indicate that San
Felipe Express S.A., which
currently operates one
compressed natural gas (CNG)
bus, is importing the new buses
for the company fleet. The
Peruvian Chamber for Natural
Gas, Cámara Peruana de Gas
Natural, is hopeful that the
trend will spread to other bus
operators and will monitor the
new vehicles assessing their
technical and economic
performance. The reports quote
another bus fleet operator as
saying that now is an opportune
time for the introduction of CNG
buses to the country.
