More Range, More Room for
German Ford C-Max
Thursday, 02 August 2007
Germany
Buyers of the compressed natural
gas (CNG) fuelled Ford C-Max
will be able to travel further
and carry more, with the vehicle
to be supplied with five on
board CNG cylinders from
September. The total carrying
capacity of the cylinders will
increase to 107 litre water
capacity (18 kg of fuel), up
from 90 litres under the
previous three cylinder
configuration. The new design
raises the driving range on CNG
to 300 km.
Four of the cylinders are
built in beneath the baggage
compartment with the fifth
housed under the vehicle floor.
Despite the addition of the
extra cylinders, owners of the
new C-Max will also benefit
from increased storage space in
the baggage department.
An additional gasoline tank,
carrying 55 litres of fuel,
increases the driving range of
the vehicle to 720 kms.
