To address the
challenges of climate
change and secure a
low-carbon and
sustainable energy
future, accelerated and
substantial investments
in greenhouse gas
abatement, renewable
energy and energy
efficiency projects are
required. Asian
Development Bank (ADB)
seeks to significantly
increase its investments
in the clean energy
sector in Asia through
specialized private
equity funds. ADB calls
for proposals from
private equity fund and
project managers (‘Fund
Managers’) to invest in
clean energy projects
and companies located
within ADB’s developing
member counties (DMCs).
Scope documents on
the ADB website indicate
up to 25% funding may be
available for projects
involving “natural gas,
clean fuel facilities
that use, produce,
transmit or store other
clean fuels such as
natural gas, methane,
liquefied petroleum gas,
etc. Greenhouse gas
abatement projects such
as landfill gas, coal
mine methane also
qualify as clean energy
projects for ADB. Source: NGV Global
